Read the title, yeah. How many times have you done that? I did it today, I've been doing for a while. You've been doing it too. That's what drove me to write about this in the first place.

I have a huge list of ideas and today as I was about to pick a topic I started sifting through other pages. I remember creating those pages but since it had been a while since i made it, I totally forgot about it. It had more interconnecting ideas, user analysis and all that fluff a product needs.

I took a moment and asked myself, what the heck am I doing? This is not what I signed up for and I've got a lot going on. I need to cut things down.

Here's the thing about me, I like making things complex. That's something a lot of reflection and therapy helped me figure out about myself. I like engineering, but if the engineering thing is simple I lose interest and then I get depressed. I like feeling like a sceintist - that's what I wanted to be when i was a kid. But clearly I'm not that smart.

I enjoy making software, but too much of it can be boring. That's why I write. Writing is also complex. Well it is simple but it depends.

The thing is we like feeling smart. Because it makes us feel good.

But more often than not, we need to get things done. And overcomplicating something doesn't help in anyway.
