About the Pomodoro Method

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. It's designed to help people work with time, not against it, by breaking down tasks into focused intervals with short breaks. Here's how it typically works:

How does a Pomodoro Timer work?

  • Choose a Task: Decide on a specific task you want to work on.
  • Set a Timer for 25 Minutes: Work on the task with full focus and avoid interruptions until the timer goes off. This 25-minute block is called a 'Pomodoro.'
  • Take a Short Break (5 Minutes): After the timer rings, take a quick break to relax and reset.
  • Repeat: After four Pomodoros, take a longer break, usually 15-30 minutes.
