How does it work?
Otto tries to find if there are any to-dos on your page. And if there are, it shows a little play button next to it that you can click.
How to start a task timer?
You can click on the play button and it'll open the popup where you can adjust the duration of the task. And once you're ready, you can click on the play button.
Since, this feature is designed to fit into your workflow, and reduce friction to start a task - there's 2 ways you can start the timer.
Single click: This will open the popup and give you granualr control on the duration
Double Click: By clicking the play button twice, this will directly start the timer. This is great when you know each task you do tasks roughly 30 minutes or less.
Remember to Pin Otto
To be able to see the timer running or interact with the popup, remember to pin Otto.
I don't see anything, it doesn't work
You might also have to reload the page or switch pages to see the play button sometimes. There's still some issues and edge cases I need to fix.
Global Duration for timers
Global duration is just a universal duration setting for each of your tasks. If you have global timer enabled, all your tasks will have the same duration and you wouldn't be able to adjust your timer.
with this enabled, you can just use a single click to start the timer.
How to turn this off?
By default, the Notion integration for Otto is turned on. It is designed to not be in your way, you only see the play buttons when you hover over to-dos so that it's not distracting.
However, if you do want to turn it off, just click on the otto button on the header of notion and click on the power button in the bottom corner. Remember to reload the page.
How to turn it back on?
Do the same as above, it'll show you the option to turn it on again.
I don't use notion but I'd like this on other tools
Well in that case, feel free to reach out to me. I'd be happy to add what you need.
